A McGill BComm grad with a specialization in the psychology of consumer behaviour, Alyson has developed a keen interest in organizational behaviour, and is self-taught in the domain of workplace experience design. Her career so far in international relations and communications has highlighted her exceptional capacity for relationship management. Alyson is enthusiastic about supporting entrepreneurs, and believes in promoting wellness and diversity in the workplace as drivers of business performance. She is a YES Montreal career mentor and an advisory committee member of a Status of Women Canada funded project focused on advancing women in STEM.
After working in public affairs at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal, Alyson joined the tech world as the client relationship manager at Dynamo, where she developed a key account strategy for the digital agency, negotiated new business contracts, and ensured a client experience second to none for internationally acclaimed eCommerce clients including Glossier, Blue Bottle Coffee and Sonder, as demonstrated by the agency’s Net Promoter Score of 80.
She is currently seeking new career opportunities where she can leverage her account management, business development, and communications expertise to contribute to the growth of the workplace industry at an organization that aims to improve the lives of people at work.
Throughout my work with multidisciplinary team of business and creative-minded people, I have garnered a profound appreciation of the power of open source movements, concepts like humane technology and socially responsible design, and Daniel Pink’s theory of human motivation focusing on the importance of autonomy, mastery, and purpose in the workplace.
Beyond these new concepts, the experience of working in technology also showed me firsthand the benefits of a thoughtful and inclusive employee experience. I was inspired to showcase these benefits to the world, and so the WXdesign.co website was born.
